Midlothian is an upscale commuter town located in the northwestern portion of Chesterfield County. A number of distinct neighborhoods characterize Midlothian real estate, including Queensmill, Stonehenge, the Villages of Charter Colony, and Walton Park.By the time coal mining became obsolete, the town’s focus had already shifted to developing Midlothian real estate into housing for Richmond’s commuting workforce. Growth was further accelerated with the creation of the Swift Creek Reservoir and the 2004 completion of Route 288, and is sure to continue thanks to the efforts of the Western Chesterfield Business Alliance. Consequently, Midlothian real estate has become increasingly popular among commuters. Families, too, are attracted to Midlothian real estate; the town’s James River High School is the President’s Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Award winner.
